Why 'Scoreless Music'
I really thank God for guiding me in all things. The main reason why I even came up with such an instrument (Chordica) is due to many people coming to me with a 'worship problem'. They are musicians that say, "I can play music well for worship, but I am unable to participate in worship itself when doing so."
The fundamental issue that every human being faces is that we cannot multi-focus, but we always have to multi-task. Multi-focusing is like asking a person to hold two mobile phone conversations *simultaneously* and fluently. I've yet to see someone accomplish this seamlessly.
Playing music and worshipping God is like multi-tasking, where you really have to do more than one thing at the same time. But at the end of the day, you can only pick and choose one of the tasks to focus on, while the other tasks are accomplished by force of habit, nature, talent, or instinct.
With a music score in front of them, most musicians put their eyes on it and guess where their focus and mind is? Quite obviously on whatever they are tracking with their eyes. Of if they are caught up with just 'playing the right chords', and are not giving attention to why they are actually playing them.
For this reason, I teach a curriculum that specifically builds up a person to finally be able to put their focus on God with everything else that is needful happening as instinctively as breathing and blinking.
This is why I chose the name "Scoreless Music" for my christian worship discipleship school.
The Lord led me to step out of a paid salary job to start Scoreless Music to train musicians in the art of true worship accompaniment which builds up good habits right from the 1st lesson.
The beauty of the Scoreless Music Method is that it works even for people with no apparent music backgrounds, and for people of all ages. (Some of my most enthusiastic students are grandparents ^_^).
I pray that He will use you and others in your network to spread word of this so that more people can enter into true worship as musicians. Beyond just the Chordica, it is truly the Scoreless Music Method that should impact the christian world to accelerate the growth of worship musicians.
